Freshmen & Sophomores
The college admissions process starts as early as ninth grade. College admission officers make decisions based on academic and extracurricular performance throughout all four years of high school.
I can map out a strategic plan for the student that will provide the maximum opportunity for admission into a college that can fulfill career goals.
This plan
includes:
-Explaining the significance of early choices and their impact on future college options
-Analyzing the student's grades and courses in progress
-Recommending appropriate courses to take in high school
-Discussing test preparatory planning and strategies for PSAT's, SAT I's, SAT II's and ACT's
-Suggesting extracurricular activities based on the student's interests
-Facilitating the creation of an extracurricular profile that will include sports activities, summers programs and community service experience
-Reviewing preliminary college interests as well as preparing for possible college campus visits
In our
initial meeting I will examine your child's courses and academic
performance. We will discuss current extracurricular activities and
projected interests. We will assess future goals and ways to further
enhance your child's profile. I will also analyze your child's report
card, grades, and courses in progress. I will make suggestions to help
you understand the way a college admissions staff .looks at. your
child's profile.
At the end of the school year we will review grades and the student's
progress for the year. We will discuss academic and extracurricular
goals for the following year. Test preparation including PSAT's SAT I's
SAT II's and ACTs will be apart of our strategy.
Finally,
we will review preliminary college interests as well as preparing for
possible college campus visits.
